Terms of service
Lumière Agents, operated by Lumière LLC · Version 2026-10-16.4
These terms are between Lumière LLC ("we") and the business that signs up ("you"). By checking the box at sign-up you agree to them.
1. What we do
We run software agents that send payment reminders for your overdue invoices to your business customers, from an email address on your domain, and sort their replies. We don't collect money, hold funds, or act as a collection agency, and the invoice chaser never contacts consumers.
Add-on agents (if you buy them): the paperwork chaser requests insurance certificates and licenses from your vendors and subcontractors. The quote follow-up sends up to three check-ins about a quote you sent to a prospective customer, who may be an individual; every one carries your postal address and an unsubscribe link, and any reply stops it. The receipt chaser asks your own employees (the people you assign to each company card) for receipts, and sends a monthly summary and download link to you and, if you choose, your bookkeeper. The missed-call text-back answers calls to a phone number in your own Twilio account: when nobody answers, it plays your greeting (with a recording notice if voicemail is on) and sends the caller one text you wrote, only between 9am and 8pm, with how to opt out; if they reply, it can send up to three short replies to find out what they need before handing the conversation to you. Nothing is written back to your accounting software.
2. Your responsibilities
- Your customers are businesses, and the invoices you give us are real, accurate and actually owed.
- You have the right to contact those customers about those invoices.
- For the quote follow-up: every quote you give us was actually sent by you to that person, who asked you for it, and you'll mark quotes won or lost (or stop them) when they're decided.
- For the receipt chaser: the people you assign to cards work for you and may be emailed about company card charges; a bookkeeper you add may receive your receipts.
- For the missed-call text-back: the Twilio account and number are yours, you're responsible for Twilio's charges and for registering your number for business texting, and you'll answer conversations the agent hands to you.
- You review and approve reminders during the approval period (at least the first 30 days), and you're responsible for what's sent in your name.
- You keep your accounting data current (or keep your accounting software connection active) and tell us about disputes, bankruptcies or payment plans by marking those invoices paid or pausing them.
3. What the agents won't do
They don't threaten, don't mention fees, interest, legal action or collections, don't invent amounts, and stop contacting anyone who asks them to stop. Disputes, questions and anything unclear are handed back to you.
4. Fees
The setup fee is charged at sign-up and covers configuration; it isn't refundable once setup work has started. The monthly fee renews each month until you cancel; you can cancel any time from Billing and the service stops at the end of the paid period. AI usage is paid from prepaid credits at our listed rates; unused credits aren't refundable but don't expire while your account is open. Third-party costs (for example your own email domain) are yours.
5. Your data
We use your invoice and customer data only to provide the service. Access to your accounting software (such as QuickBooks) is read-only and you can disconnect it any time. Stored keys are encrypted. When you cancel, we delete your data within 90 days unless you ask us to sooner, except records we must keep for accounting.
6. No guarantee of results
We don't guarantee that any invoice will be paid. Email delivery can fail for reasons outside our control.
7. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the claim, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost revenue or customer relationships.
8. Suspension
We may pause the service if payment fails, if it's being used to contact consumers, or if it's being misused, and we'll tell you why.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; we'll email you at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continuing to use the service means you accept them.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut.
